Jason E. Richards
Position: Director Head of Business Procurement (Retired FBI Agent)
Nationality: American
For the past 25 years, Jason has served as a Special Agent at the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), leading and managing financial crimes investigations and operations worldwide. A Certified Public Accountant (CPA) with certifications in cryptocurrency tracing from TRM Labs, he culminated his career as the Assistant Legal Attaché at the U.S. Embassy in Thailand. There, he collaborated with government, intelligence, and law enforcement partners to combat criminal and national security issues in Southeast Asia, focusing particularly on money laundering, human trafficking, and other critical investigations. While working in Thailand, Jason became a subject matter expert in resolution civil forfeiture actions taken by the United States Department of Justice against crypto assets owned by foreign nationals.
Previously, Jason held roles as Assistant Legal Attaché in Romania and the Republic of Moldova, specializing in cybercrime and trafficking of radioactive materials. Domestically, he investigated major corporate and securities fraud cases and served as a Supervisory Special Agent with the Economic Crimes Unit at FBIHQ during the 2008 financial crisis.
